Concert Promotion FAQ

The following information will answer many of the questions you may have about arranging a concert.

JMTConcert_1I've never been to a JMT concert - what's it like?

John Michael's concerts are unlike any other you've ever attended. Through music, prayer, teaching, and praise, John Michael leads a Holy Spirit-filled evening that many have called a "musical retreat," rather than a concert.

How can I promote a concert?

To help you in promoting your concert, I am ready to guide and assist you with pre-concert preparations. I have also prepared Concert Promotion Plan, which is a week-by-week checklist to help guide you through the process of organizing, recruiting volunteers, printing tickets, and selecting the best schedule for using newspaper, radio, telephone, and flyers. I even even provides 100 full-color posters at no cost to you, and can arrange telephone interviews for your local radio and newspapers.

JMTConcert_2How much does it cost?

I can discuss several different ways to arrange a concert. We are now arranging “Guaranteed Love Offering” concerts which may even allow you to host a concert at no cost with a well-attended concert. We can also arrange a type of fundraising concert through your ticket sales. Exact arrangements may depend upon the type of concert you wish to have, whether the concert is part of a scheduled tour, or whether the concert is in conjunction with a speaking engagement or itinerant teaching ministry of the Brothers and Sisters of Charity arranged through your diocese.

Can I expect to make a profit?

Many sponsors have organized concerts as very successful fundraisers for building projects or other needs. Others plan concerts to "break even" only, and others are interested solely in bringing in the ministry to their community as part of their outreach budget.  Your specific needs will dictate how you price your tickets, and how you and your team promote the concert. We have the experience to help you plan your promotion for any goal you have.

JMTConcert_3What about my local advertising and promotion?

Your organization is responsible for advertising and promoting your concert - with a little creativity, this can be done for little expense - posters, mailings, flyers, bulletin announcements in area churches, and radio public service announcements are all free or low-cost methods that are very effective. Many concert promoters have found creative ways to save money by partnering with a local radio station or newspaper, or having printing services donated in exchange for advertising on the tickets or the concert programs.

Your concert will be promoted on John Michael's web site, and by e-mail at no cost to you. We also advertise in popular Christian magazines and web sites. Our ministry has many years experience to help you every step of the way with creative suggestions for your situation.

JMTConcert_4What else am I responsible for?

Since we travel with only one engineer, it is necessary for us to request volunteer help at your concert for things like loading, set up, unloading, and CD sales. A men's club, LifeTeen group, choir, or other church-sponsored group is perfect for this purpose. We provide a step-by-step schedule for the concert day's activities to help it run smoothly.

Do I have any additional costs?

On a regularly scheduled tour, John Michael's ministry covers the "road expenses" including travel, meals, lodging, sound and lighting equipment, and engineer. Unless you are renting a public auditorium or other building, there are no additional costs.

When will John Michael be available?

John Michael regularly visits large areas of the United States at different times of the year, usually in the spring and fall. He is also available for special appearances at any time during the year that schedules permit. Our concert coordinator will be able to provide you with exact dates.

JMTConcert_5How do I encourage my organization to sponsor the concert?

Besides the information contained here, we can send you information to present to your organization, including photos, biographical information about John Michael, and a CD, all with no obligation. Please check out the video clips on this page taken at a live solo concert. You will be able to witness John Michael's ministry as he leads a standing-room-only audience into prayer.

I want to have a concert. What do I do now?

John Michael's office is ready to answer any of your questions, and to direct you from here.  If you have not yet done so, the first thing to do is to fill out and submit this contact form. This will allow John Michael's office to know your location and contact information before contacting you. Or, you can contact us at :
